This year we have a real treat for businesses looking into crowdfunding options. Our guest speaker and expert crowdfunder, designer and founder, Kabeer Arora, of Kabaccha Shoes will tell his story of how he cracked the code on crowdfunding.
Arora, after noticing the lack of color, comfort, and personality in men’s footwear launched Kabaccha Shoes. With an affinity for design and innovation, he set out to redefine the modern dress shoe and launched the Kabaccha project on Kickstarter. Surpassing his goal of $25K within the first day, the self-made entrepreneur and third-generation shoemaker crushed his 40-day campaign, breaking the previous record by almost 200K to become the most successful footwear campaign in crowdfunding history. Garnering 1571 backers and raising $417K dollars, Kabeer is frequently referred to as “The King of Kickstarter” and recognized as a crowdfunding expert. Focused on growing Kabaccha with a values-based philosophy in mind, and aiming to disrupt a longstanding market that chooses profit over people, Kabeer’s goal is to build a brand that prioritizes quality, promises affordability, and captures a range of colorful styles that embody freedom and choice of expression.
