FGCU Florida Small Business Development Center Nominates Christopher T. Spiro as 2017 SBA’s Small Business Person of the Year

FORT MYERS, Fla.  – The Florida Small Business Development Center (FSBDC) at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) has nominated Christopher T. Spiro, president of Spiro and Associates, as the 2017 Small Business Administration’s (SBA), Small Business Person of the Year.  National winners will be announced in Washington, D.C. during award ceremonies on April 30 and May 1.

Spiro has received several awards and accolades for his work, accomplishments and community outreach. In 2016, he was named Distinguished Entrepreneur of Southwest Florida.  The FSBDC recognizes one business owner each year based on several criteria, including outstanding entrepreneurship. Prior year award winners are nominated for the SBA Small Business Person of the Year award.

In addition to Spiro’s nomination for the SBA award, he will participate as one of the several judges for the upcoming 2017 Distinguished Entrepreneur of Southwest Florida. The FSBDC at FGCU offers one-on-one, confidential, no-cost consulting and low-cost workshops for businesses throughout Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties.
