Nominations Are Open for the Sixth Annual 2017 Distinguished Entrepreneur of SW Florida 

FORT MYERS, Fla.  – Florida Small Business Development Center (FSBDC) at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) is accepting nominations for the 2017 Distinguished Entrepreneur of SW Florida. Southwest Florida business owners who have overcome obstacles, discovered new technologies to help grow their business or dedicated themselves to helping other small businesses through mentorship and civic leadership are encouraged to submit applications. Self-nominations are permitted and encouraged.  All nominees, regardless of nomination source, are responsible for completing the application due to the confidentiality of information collected.

Awards include Distinguished Entrepreneur, Distinguished Small Business Advocate, and Distinguished Innovator of the Year. Prizes include video and press coverage, and much more for the three awardees. The application deadline is March 31.  The application process is online. Manual submissions will not be accepted. The awards ceremony will be held May 10, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the SWFL Performing Arts Center, 11515 Bonita Beach Road SE, Bonita Springs. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.  Tickets cost $75 per person.

The FSBDC at FGCU offers one-on-one, confidential, no-cost consulting and low-cost workshops for businesses throughout Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties. The state designates it as Florida’s principal provider of business assistance. The Florida SBDC at Florida Gulf Coast University is a member of the Florida SBDC Network, a statewide service network funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
