Digital Engagement Editor Cory O’Donnell helps lead The News-Press digital consumer experience team, specializing in web, mobile, apps, data analysis, and social media. He works to discover new ways of connecting readers with The News-Press journalism team. Cory also serves on The News-Press Editorial Board and chairs The News-Press Young Professionals Advisory Board. He previously served as a digital director, social media manager and a commercial producer/editor. Cory holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcasting and Film with a minor in Theatre from the University of Central Missouri.

Andrea Melendez

Andrea Melendez came to SWFL from Iowa. She has been an award winning photographer and videographer for the company for almost 20 years. This is her second year on the News-Press photo staff. As a multimedia journalist, Andrea covers, news, features, spot news, sports, and anything outdoors. She is creative, forward thinking, and fresh with her daily work and really enjoys the SWFL has to offer. Previously she worked for 15 years at the Des Moines Register in Des Moines, Iowa, as well as 3 years at the Democrat and Chronicle in
Rochester, NY. She has the passion, drive, and credibility to bring you fair news on many platforms.

Shelby Reynolds

Multimedia features reporter Shelby Reynolds contributes stories to the Neapolitan and news sections of the Naples Daily News, Turquoise magazine and compiles a weekly video listing the “top 5 things to do this weekend in Southwest Florida,” which is widely viewed and shared. Shelby mostly reports on human-interest stories, covering artists, crafters, trends, wellness, homes and gardens. Shelby also shoots and edits video projects on occasion for the visual department. She is a recent graduate of Wichita State University’s Elliott School of Communication, with a bachelor’s degree in communication with an emphasis on journalism.

Ashley Collins

Multi-media journalist Ashley Collins works with Naples Daily News’ community team to cover locally-oriented news in Collier County. She works to create relationships with readers and sources to write heartfelt, inspiring and entertaining stories for both digital and print. Ashley also covers breaking news on Saturdays, takes photos, and has a regular social media presence. She previously served as a general assignment reporter at a daily paper in Mississippi. Ashley holds a bachelor of arts degree in Radio-Television with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science from the University of Central Florida.
