AA Associates Realty and Property Management 

Determination to succeed: That’s how Darlene Stanley helped AA Associates Realty and Property Management get where it is today. But Stanley didn’t just believe in the success of her business. She also believed in the success of her relationships and her personal success. 

Stanley began her career as a licensed real estate agent in 2003. In 2015, she was faced with changes to the brokerage firm she worked at that forced her to re-evaluate her position and consider what she wanted the future of her to look like. 

For some, the thought of long hours and hard work is too much to handle. Not for Stanley, though. She enthusiastically took on more responsibility at her firm, getting involved in the property management side of the business to maintain balance during these changes. 

In 2016, the current acting broker decided to step down from their position and sell AA Associates Realty and Property Management. It was then that Stanley chose to make a decision that would change the course of her career. She decided to get her broker’s license and buy AA Associates Realty and Property Management. On August 1, 2016, she became the official owner. 

“At first, it felt like my biggest obstacle was being a woman in what is often perceived as a man’s role. Now, I feel that I have earned my place, and the ship is in the right direction,” Stanley shares. 

She knew that her business savvy and passion would bring her far in life and in her career. These, along with a solid foundation for her business to grow on and SBDC’s professional assistance, helped Stanley find the success she needed for AA Associates Realty and Property Management’s future. Repeat business, referrals, and strong client relationships helped lift Stanley and her business up to the top; SBDC helped keep her there. 

With the help of SBDC, Stanley has been able to continue to realize her dream for her business. SBDC guided AA Associates Realty and Property Management through rebranding efforts, social media management, and more. Even though Stanley had a vision of what she wanted for her business, having experts fully bring her vision into reality was essential. 

“SBDC poured into my business so much knowledge and wisdom, and, for that, I can’t thank them enough,” Stanley said. “With SBDC’s help, AA Associates Realty and Property Management gained stability and helped put us on the map. I can now continue to build my business by reaching out to my local community to serve and give back, the way SBDC did for me.”
