The pandemic found Netram without a job and, with little luck with job searching and a lack of interviews, the only viable option seemed to make a change. Netram knew that if you wanted to make meaningful change, you had to be willing to take risks.
Thus, in May 2020, Lotus Solutions, LLC was established. Lotus Solutions, LLC helps businesses create diversity and inclusion to ensure a fair and just workplace.
“Having experienced personal and professional setbacks for being a woman of color, I decided it was time to help companies understand why it is important to not only recruit and hire but also develop and support people who are diverse like me,” Netram shares.
She reached out to the consulting team at the SBDC, looking for guidance to launch Lotus Solutions to the next level. The SBDC offered knowledge and expertise in social media, showing Netram how to effectively market her busines, network with potential partners, and reach new customers.
“Our hope is to engage a variety of businesses, across the country, to help them reap the multitude of benefits of having a diverse and inclusive workplace,” she says.
By partnering with the SBDC, Lotus Solutions is able to do just that – effectively, strategically, and in a manner that connects as many people as possible to Lotus Solutions’ services.
Not only has the SBDC team helped Netram with growing her business, but they have also given Netram more opportunities to spread the word about her business. Consultations, educational trainings, and speeches have all been possible, thanks to the assistance the SBDC has provided.
