With Sun Goddess Adventures, guests can book day-long excursions on a catamaran, complete with full meals and a customized itinerary. All the guess work is taken out of planning your trip, thanks to Cheryl and Kevin Simmons. All you’re required to do is enjoy your vacation!
Before the success that Sun Goddess Adventures is now, Simmons first needed guidance on how to get her idea off the ground. Cheryl and Kevin moved from Virginia Beach, VA, to Florida realize their dream together.
She originally visited the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at FGCU for assistance setting up a business plan and acquiring a loan. With professional services to get her on the right track, Simmons was also able to reap other benefits from the SBDC.
The SBDC “helped me improve my credit so that I could get a loan and helped me write a business plan,” Simmons shares. She was able to stay on top of her goals and appreciated that the team at the SBDC kept in close contact with her throughout the process.
Sun Goddess Adventures, LLC is just getting started, but Simmons is confident that there is a bright and sunny future for her company – one that includes the SBDC, as well.
Moving forward, Simmons says, she wants to reach out to the SBDC for help with finances, marketing, and guidance on improving her business plan.
“My biggest success so far is having the confidence I was given by the SBDC to go out there on my own, create a business plan, and be able to buy my dream boat,” Simmons shares.
Simmons believes in the success the SBDC can bring to a new business. “They are a fantastic resource,” she says with a smile. “If I had to pick one word to describe the SBDC, it would be effective. They don’t stop until you reach your goals, and I really appreciate that.”
