Craig Bamberg Co-Owner of Platinum Dry Cleaners, initially came into SBDC offices to see one of our consultants Suzanne Specht in the Fall of 2016. He wanted to buy a few different businesses but nothing worked out that was a win-win for him.
“The beauty of SBDC is that we go through the motions in looking at the financial review. We found two opportunities that weren’t opportunities at all and the third opportunity was the charm thus platinum is now in play, “ said Craig.
In the Fall of 2018, Craig found an existing dry-cleaning company in Naples that was for sale called Platinum Dry Cleaners. Platinum Dry Cleaners has been serving Southwest Florida since 1989. Between his brother Chris Bamberg (Co-Owner) previous experience in dry-cleaning business and Craig’s sales/promotion/operations experience, this business was a great fit for them.
Suzanne analyzed the financials, found an SBA lender and facilitated the load package acquisition for Craig. In January 2019, the loan closed and Suzanne was able to assist them with an SME assessment to facilitate the acquisition transition.
She recommended Neil Shinder, SBDC consultant, and CPA to review their Quickbooks and work with his bookkeeper. Neil met with Craig at his business to review the Quickbooks chart of accounts and financials to improve the operations.
Lastly, SBDC recommended Craig to be apart of the Marketing Mastermind program and receive consulting from LaShaun Collier that solidifies a team consulting approach to help Craig improve the business.
