Tasheekia harris
Author and Founder of Crowning Daughter for Success Enrichment Program

TaSheekia Harris, of Fort Myers, originally from Jacksonville, Harris had a humble upbringing and faced many challenges while growing up as a product of teen parents. 

Having overcome many obstacles and life experiences has given Harris the ability to encourage positive growth in the lives of others. She has worked with youth and adults for 20 years in personal development. Her enrichment program Crowning Daughters for Success is conducted in Lee County Public Schools, the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County, PACE Center for Girls, Collier at Immokalee, Out of SchoolTime Initiative (NCEF) plus, various other youth organizations, and includes a Ma & Me “Growing Together Empowerment” to assist mothers and daughters with productive relational building.  

She is a regular on Lee Pitts Live, a local talk show, where she has the opportunity to reach young girls and women with a positive message. She launched Girl Talk with TaSheekia, a mini segment on Lee Pitts Live, which motivates, directs, and creates awareness through relatable topic discussions and interviews. Harris is also an ordained minister with over 20 years of experience. She uses her published Topical Journal, Dressing My Inner Beauty and Dating Guide, Protect Your Pearls, multiple platforms and venues to empower girls and women to live life purposefully, proudly, and powerfully.

Jessica Rhea
Senior Director Experiential Learning and Career Development

Jessica Rhea is the Sr. Director of Experiential Learning & Career Development at Florida Gulf Coast University.  In this role, she works collaboratively with the Directors of Service-Learning, Internships, and Career Development to increase student success and career-readiness by institutionalizing service-learning and internship experiences at FGCU. By integrating these real-world, hands-on learning experiences into FGCU students’ educations, they can explore career paths and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to equip themselves for their future professional endeavors.  Prior to this role, Jessica held the positions of Director of Service-Leaning and Civic Engagement and Instructor within the Department of Communication & Philosophy Since 1999, Jessica has been helping students learn and succeed at FGCU and beyondShe loves what she does and is proud to be an Eagle.

Dr. Aysegul Timur

President, Florida Gulf Coast University

Dr. Aysegul Timur, President, Florida Gulf Coast University Aysegul Timur, Ph.D., was selected to become Florida Gulf Coast University’s fifth president on May 4, 2023, following a unanimous endorsement from the FGCU Board of Trustees. Her presidency was confirmed by the Florida Board of Governors on June 22, 2023. In her most recent role, Timur served as Vice President and Vice Provost for Strategy and Program Innovation at FGCU, where she has worked since 2019. Dr. Timur received her doctoral degree in Business Administration, majoring in Economics, from the University of South Florida, and both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration from the University of Istanbul. Her areas of specialization include business policy and organizational development, quality and continuous improvement, health (especially pharmaceutical pricing), and international economics. She is a go-to expert for workforce development and was recently honored by the Florida College Access Network as one of its first Workforce Education Innovators. Before joining the University team, she held a variety of faculty and executive leadership positions in higher education, including full professor of economics.

Regional President Fifth Third Bank, N.A. (South Florida)

Stephanie Green is regional president of Fifth Third Bank, N.A. (South Florida). She is responsible for the growth and strategic alignment of our Business, Commercial, Wealth & Asset Management and Consumer businesses to deliver distinctive value to our customers and community impact in the region. She was named to the role in June 2023. Stephanie has held multiple leadership roles since joining Fifth Third in 1989. Since 2015, she served as managing director of the Wealth & Asset Management line of business in Fifth Third’s Central Ohio region, based in her native Columbus. Before that, she was regional residential mortgage sales manager for 13 years. She also served five years as employee relations manager. Stephanie developed that region’s first small business-lending department and was a founding member of the Women of Wealth leadership development program.

dr. Meagan Baskin

Associate Professor of Management and the Director of the Southwest Florida Leadership Institute at Florida Gulf Coast University

Dr. Baskin earned her doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma and has held faculty positions in management at the University of Tulsa, University of Central Oklahoma, and West Texas A & M University. 

In her role as the Director of the Southwest Florida Leadership Institute, Dr. Baskin brings the classroom back to the community by developing leadership and workforce training opportunities for regional organizations and community members with the goal of increasing workforce sustainability in southwest Florida.  

Dr. Baskin is an award-winning researcher and has been featured in a variety of local and national news outlets. She teaches in the areas of ethical decision-making, organizational behavior and human resource management and has won several teaching awards, including the 2023 Distinguished Educator Award from the Southwest Academy of Management, a career achievement award for excellence in teaching.  

Julie Camp

Owner of 2911 Designs

Julie Camp is the owner of 2911 Designs, originally from Iowa, and settled in Lee County 33 years ago. She transitioned from the resort industry in 1990 to picture framing in 1997 to start a family. In 2002, she founded Abc Framing, focusing on mobile services and becoming an entrepreneur while being a stay-at-home mom. She actively engaged with the community, serving on the Chamber of Commerce board and attending SBDC programs. Julie is currently in her second 4-year term as a commissioner for the Lehigh Acres Improvement District. In response to evolving competition, she expanded her business by offering custom artwork and mobile paint and sip parties in Lee and Collier counties, now operating from her brick-and-mortar studio and frame shop in Lehigh Acres.

CEO of Steel Bleu

Cotrenia Hood, CEO of Steel Bleu has over 20 years’ experience in business development. After a successful career with two major fortune 500 companies, Cotrenia then transitioned to working with Chambers of Commerce where she led business and economic development in both Louisiana and Naples, Florida. Cotrenia felt a deep passion to step out as an entrepreneur and in 2016, founded Steel Bleu.

Cotrenia has served on several boards and leadership counsels. She was also honored as 2013 Gulfshore Business Magazine 40 under 40, a Florida Weekly Power Women and a graduate of Leadership Collier. Cotrenia is a sought-after speaker on the topic of business & leadership development as well as innovative strategies. She has also been featured in magazines and on television for her work as a business consultant. Cotrenia has a passion for helping today’s business leader by providing knowledge, tools, and strategy to scale their businesses and elevate their position in this new economy.

Owner of International Roofing, LLC

Lorena Vargas Schultz graduated from FGCU with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance. She performed as a professional opera singer, songwriter, and pop artist in Naples, Miami, South Florida, and New York City. Now, Lorena is owner and operator of International Roofing, LLC bringing innovation, family values, and creativity to the Roofing Industry. She was a 2022 Distinguished Entrepreneur Award Finalist.
